With the final passage of the FAA reauthorization, Congress has taken a major step forward in addressing surprise and balance billing issues by providing more regulatory authority over air ambulances. At the same time, NAHU has been working closely with several senators on forthcoming balance billing legislation that is expected to be considered in the next Congress. On this week’s episode, NAHU’s Marcy M. Buckner, John Greene and Chris Hartmann join the Healthcare Happy Hour to review the ongoing steps at the federal and state levels to address this growing concern as patients are left with exorbitant medical bills for services billed out-of-network. The episode also looks into how NAHU is working to prepare the incoming group of lawmakers expected to join the 116th Congress in January and how you can join us in our efforts to advocate on behalf of your clients and protect our industry.
