Joni Reents is an independent insurance broker with a small agency in Northglenn, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. She started her career in the health insurance industry at a general agency in 1986. There she worked with numerous brokers helping them find the right product for their clients, providing preliminary underwriting advice, and working with the insurance carriers to get coverage issued. In 1999, one of these brokers offered her a partnership in his agency in south Denver. They worked together until his retirement in 2006 at which time Joni moved the office to north Denver and changed the name of the agency to Reents Insurance Agency. Her agency focuses on the Medicare, individual, and small group markets.
Joni is an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters since 2004, serving as President of the Colorado chapter in 2016, Region VII Membership Chair from 2017 – 2019, and on the Membership Council since 2020. She currently serves as national chair of NAHU’s Membership Council, focusing on communication and improving the member experience.
She is the proud mother of two adult children. Her daughter Danne works in the industry and is a NAHU member in her home state of Wyoming. Her son is a manager for a large chain bookstore in Fort Collins, Colorado. She enjoys camping/glamping, quilting, scrapbooking, and traveling.
