NAHU’s Marcy M. Buckner, John Greene and Chris Hartmann join this week’s podcast to review our response to the Trump Administration’s funding opportunity announcement providing that navigators inform consumers about non-marketplace options, including association health plans and short-term plans. We discuss the statutory limitations placed on navigators in discussing non-marketplace plans, and our overall consumer protection concerns with navigators providing adequate education on these complex policies. The podcast also includes a discussion of our latest call to action on the health insurance tax and why we are continuing to push for another delay while we seek a full repeal, the prospects for value-based care, and a look ahead to what’s on tap with the short-term plan final rule and an interim final rule on risk adjustment, both in their last stages before being released.
