Small groups are often overlooked by agencies. Their size means less in premiums, fewer employees and usually less complex plans than larger companies. Unfortunately, this often means that benefits consultants will take and service them yet provide a different set of resources than their larger, more profitable accounts. Nowhere is this problem more magnified than in the arena of compliance. It is often assumed that because ACA reporting doesn't apply, and because the employer doesn't have the same level of internal resources, that compliance is not a big deal for small groups.
