A week after Groundhog Day, Congress passed its latest continuing resolution (CR) in the overnight hours. We can only surmise that the legislators saw their shadows in the early morning twilight, because they declared “six more weeks of budget negotiations.” The latest CR lasts until March 23 and provides hope for a final chance at passing much needed market stability legislation. On this week’s installment of the Washington Update Podcast, NAHU’s Vice President of Government Affairs Marcy M. Buckner and Vice Presidents of Congressional Affairs John Greene and Chris Hartmann discuss the details of the latest CR and what we can expect in the March CR. They also give a sneak preview of the forthcoming guidance expected to be released on short-term limited duration insurance plans and reforms to the ACA waiver programs.
