Kicking off December with a Flurry of Legislation

December 1, 2017  |  By: NAHU

Congress is seeking to wrap up the year with a flurry of major legislation, including tax reform, extending the delays for the Cadillac/excise and health insurance taxes, reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and potentially market stabilization. On this week’s installment, NAHU Vice President of Government Affairs Marcy M. Buckner and Vice Presidents of Congressional Affairs John Greene and Chris Hartmann discuss the outlook for each of these items and the major obstacles that remain in the way. They also discuss the ongoing confirmation process for Alex Azar to be the next HHS secretary and what he said about the medical loss ratio that could bring relief for broker commissions.
